Palazzo di Fuoco Achieves LEED Platinum Certification
Palazzo di Fuoco Achieves LEED Platinum Certification
Palazzo di Fuoco, an iconic Milanese building, has been revitalized through a thoughtful renovation led by GBPA Architects.
The project aims to preserve the original architecture while reinterpreting it with a modern and technologically advanced approach, incorporating several defining elements:
- An exceptionally transparent and lightweight façade, featuring advanced LED technology embedded within its profiles. This interactive façade communicates with the city in real-time, displaying the time, temperature, and other current information via a luminous grid.
- A spacious inner courtyard transformed into a covered plaza, serving as the heart of the building’s private and shared spaces. Enclosed by a warm and textured façade, the plaza is enhanced with reflective water features and vertical gardens, including one standing an impressive 145 meters tall, making it the largest green wall in Europe. Natural materials, diverse plant species, and a complex spatial layout imbue the plaza with a sense of quality and well-being, reflecting the growing connection between sustainability and comfort.
Eco-friendly solutions, cutting-edge technologies, and exceptional quality spaces have earned Palazzo di Fuoco the prestigious LEED Platinum certification, acknowledging GBPA’s commitment to sustainable, innovative, and high-quality design.
The LEED certification process was managed by BMS Progetti, whose pivotal role contributed to achieving this significant milestone.
