Leed Platinum
Leed Platinum
Inaugurated last year in Milan in Viale Montegrappa, the new corporate headquarters of Amazon obtained the Leed Platinum certification, the maximum obtainable, awarded by the US Green Building Council. The architectural project and the artistic direction of the building owned by Antirion SGR bear the signature of the Architects Antonio Gioli and Federica De Leva of GBPA and of TEKNE Spa, for the design of the plants and structures, as well as the general coordination, the management works and Leed certification. The building is in perfect harmony with the neighboring buildings in the heart of the emerging district of Porta Nuova and consists of two buildings of 9 and 6 floors above ground, connected to each other at all levels by a central block, for 40,000 square meters, characterized by a new glass façade that improves and amplifies the transparency and interior lighting. To achieve this important recognition, some fundamental technical and technological choices have been made. The Viale Monte Grappa building was in fact designed according to the criteria of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. All aspects of the project system (housing, systems, lighting, architecture) have high levels of efficiency and integration. The building is able to limit the impact on the environment, and is designed with a cultural approach aimed at reducing energy consumption using renewable sources, reducing water consumption, using materials with particular characteristics and provenance , with attention to the life cycle of the building and its components, aiming at the welfare of the occupants and social sustainability.
